A step by step guide on how to use EndNote

Output styles

EndNote has a range of output styles that control the appearance of citations in the text and references in your list.

To select an output style in your Word document

  • From the EndNote ribbon Bibliography group select the style from the drop-down style menu in the section:

  • If the style you require is not in the list, click on the first option from the drop-down menu Select Another Style…
  • A box will appear with a range of styles. Additional styles can also be downloaded from the EndNote website. Save files in C:\Program Files\EndNote\Styles. 
  • The Imperial versions of Harvard and Vancouver styles can also be downloaded using the link below. Save files in C:\Program Files\EndNote\Styles.
